When we bought the Farm Dogs property in 2018, we had just adopted our third dog, a 12-year old rat terrier mix named Henry from Maui, who had been flown in to Heartland Humane Society. Having had been a regular volunteer there during that time, I got to know Henry and learned quickly that he needed to be out of the shelter, but as a senior dog, he was consistently overlooked.  So, after a short time, Frank and I decided to welcome him into the pack which at the time consisted of two other rescue dogs and three cats.  We were confident that this new property would be the perfect place for Henry, an old farm dog that was almost totally blind, to live out his years, as well as the ideal place to accommodate more dogs in need.  Thus, began our journey of fostering senior dogs ( adopting two of them in the process),  especially those that benefited from the open space to roam and creek to swim. Then in 2023, after completing a 24-year career in teaching,  Farm Dogs Boarding and Daycare began. We have been very grateful for the opportunity to share this special place, or  as it has been referred to by some guest dog guardians,  the "dog spa" or "canine camp" with so many guest and foster dogs  in the last couple of years; as well,  to provide the same quality of care for your dog as we do our own pack. "I cannot imagine a better place to board a dog.  Lesley is incredible and my dog Rudy LOVES going to her place!   My dog is very shy and has a hard time warming up to people. I've been taking both of my dogs to Farm Dogs since 2023, and they are simply the best.

From the moment I drop them off until pickup, I know they are in the best hands. The dogs absolutely love going, have made new friends, and I always appreciate the picture updates from Lesley!

The biggest benefit is the complete peace of mind—it’s a huge relief knowing they are happy and safe. Farm Dogs is truly a blessing for any dog owner! Highly, highly recommend.
